It’s the time of year again, Arizona Breakfast Weekend (ABW), July 27th-30th. Get out and try a ‘new to you’ local restaurant. What is Arizona Breakfast Weekend? Sponsored by the Arizona Restaurants Associate, the event like Arizona Restaurant Week is a chance to get out and try out a new restaurant with an exciting special menu just for the event. To see the list of participating restaurants visit the Arizona Breakfast Weekend website. I see a few of my favorites including Hash Kitchen, NCounter Tempe, Chompie’s, and Artizen.
No tickets are required and a few restaurants suggest reservations. Menus are priced at $7, $10, or $15 per person or per couple. A few restaurants are even offering a ‘breakfast for dinner’ option – so fun! Check the website for specific details.
I was invited to attend the AMW Media preview event and was super excited when I learned it was hosted at one of my favorite brunch spots in town, Hash Kitchen. Have you experienced their Bloody Mary bar yet?? OMG, if you’re a fan you must check it out! Their Mimosas are pretty tasty too.
Hash Kitchen’s Arizona Breakfast Weekend menu is $15 and includes a Classic Mimosa and a house made Cannoli Doughnut along with a choice of entree.
So many scrumptious entree choices. For the media dinner we sample mini servings, for ABW, you will enjoy full sized servings. The Chicken and Waffle dish has always been one of my Hash Kitchen favorites.
Carnitas Hash – coke braised pork, hash potatoes, cotija, roasted corn, avocado, green chili sauce, crema, fried onions cilantro, and corn tortillas.
Shrimp “Oscar” Hash – crispy potatoes, roasted prawns, asparagus, bearnaise sauce
Herb Fried Chicken & Waffle – herb fried chicken, thick cut bacon, fried leeks, warm maple syrup reduction
Banana Brioche French Toast – caramelized bananas, sweet mascarpone, seasonal berries, warm salted caramel drizzle, walnuts
Cannoli Pancakes – fluffy ricotta and cinnamon pancakes, sweetened ricotta and chocolate chip cream, powdered sugar, maraschino cherries.
Arizona Breakfast Weekend is sponsored by Hickman’s Family Farms so of course, the chicken had to make an appearance. Passport Coffee and Tea is also sponsored – have you tried their yummy teas? LOVE them.
