One dozen margaritas. Yes, that’s how many you can find on CRUjiente Tacos‘ new drink menu. Have you been to Cru yet?
It’s one of my favorite places in town for tacos. The whiskey selection at the bar is pretty awesome too – ask for Jason and he’ll suggest some great whiskeys to try. The tacos are foodie heaven. Not your typical taco shop but instead a masterpiece of flavor pairings. But that’s another blog post…. today we’re talking margaritas.
Pineapple and Jalapeno Margarita
Ok here we go:
Marionberry and Mint
Mixed Berry and Mint
Nectarine and Ginger
Pineapple and Habanero
Strawberry and Basil
They were all delicious (all the ones I tried…I didn’t try ALL 12, ha ha). I started with the Irish, because well its Irish as in Irish Whisky. Loved it – nice twist to a classic. The Pineapple and Jalapeno had a nice balance of sweet to spicy. The Strawberry and Basil and the Passionfruit were also delicious. My pick for the night was the Passionfruit. But my margarita choice varies with my mood – sometimes I like sweet, other times spicy. And a well-made classic, you just can’t go wrong.
The Irish Margarita
Strawberry and Basil Margarita
Need something to go with those Margaritas? How about some Mexican Street Corn. And tacos of course.
You know what else??? On Mondays, because its #margaritamonday, all margaritas are $5 from 3 pm – 10 pm.
Salt or no salt? I’m definately for salt.

disclosure: I was invited to a CRUjiente Tacos media night to sample the margaritas so I could write about the new menu. All opinions are my own.
