How fun is this? Each of the 5 Culinary Drop Out locations has created their own unique cocktail in a friendly competition. Bar Wars. You can vote for your favorite for your own chance to win gift cards. I toured all 3 Arizona locations to sample for myself. There are two more locations in Vegas and Austin.
My first stop was Scottsdale. Culinary Dropout is located across from Scottsdale Fashion Square. Love this location with its fancy chandeliers and great patio seating. A bit more sophisticated location with the games of The Yard. Love Tucson’s Del Bac Whiskey as its always a staple in my home bar. Prickly Pear too is a win and love the taste of home it adds to the drink.

Del Bac Classic Whiskey, Lavender Syrup,
Fresh Lemon, Prickly Pear Jam

Next up is central Phoenix’s 7th Street location at The Yard. Always a popular spot for watching games or playing your own (ping pong??). Loved the freshness of this drink and the touch of apricot.
7th Street
Mellow on Montebello
Nolet’s Gin, Bitter Truth Apricot Liquor

Finally Tempe at The Yard. Loved everything about this drink. When I look at a menu and see a cocktail with Rye, that’s always my pick. Love the use of Arizona Distilling Co,’s Copper City Bourbon which was infused with peach.
Tempe

My pick? It was hard but it was Tempe’s Daisy Duke. I’m a whiskey girl so I knew it would be between Scottsdale and Tempe. Sorry, 7th Street. Though I’m not a gin cocktail drinker, the Mellow on Montebello was quite tasty.
