The Phoenician is one of the most amazing resorts in the valley. I’ve been to the resort a few times but hadn’t ever dined at J & G Steakhouse until recently. Not sure how this had escaped me so long as the views were AMAZING, the food was delicious and the service was perfect.
J & G Steakhouse recently hosted a Mixology and Craft Cocktails Class followed by the Culinary Countdown summer dinner menu. I’m always excited to learn more about mixing cocktails so I was looking forward to attending.
The mixology session was held before dinner and led by Laura Chinitz, J&G Steakhouse’s Cocktail expert This was also a great social experience as we were seated together in large groups. The first cocktail was a Ginger Margarita which was my favorite of the two. I’m not normally a fan of ginger drinks but this had just the perfect hint of ginger and the ginger salt rimming the glass was so tasty. The Orange Elderflower Cosmo was also quite tasty. This cocktail spelled delicious too with the elderflower and I love the dehydrated orange slice garnish.
Following the cocktail mixology session, we were seated in the dining room with a 3-course menu where we got to select our dishes for dinner from the Culinary Countdown menu. This special 3-course menu is only offered this summer (through September 14th). For the appetizer, I went with the Chilled Melon and Tomato Gazpacho with Jumbo Crab Lump with was deliciously refreshing and I loved the unique melon twist to gazpacho. For the entree, I selected the Marinated Prime Flat Iron Steak with Cilantro Pesto, Sesame Seeds, and Bok Choy. I finished with sorbet.
LOVE wine? J & G Steakhouse is having an awesome summer special – 50% off bottles of wines listed under $100 in the dining room.
The resort’s pools are currently under construction but the rest of the resort is running as normal. I’m excited for the reveal of the remodeled pool area – it was amazing in the past so I’m sure it will be even more luxurious when complete.
disclosure: I was hosted at J & G Steakhouse for their Cocktails and Craft Cocktails Class so that I could share my experience with you, my readers. All opinions are my own.
