Burgers, Burgers, Burgers. Scottsdale Culinary Festival’s 2017 Burger Battle was quite an event – sooo many yummy burgers. And fries, desserts and beer. I didn’t try them all this year but did sample a good portion of them.
Over 12 restaurants competed and the winners advance to the World Championships.
and the winner is….
JUDGE’S CHOICE WINNER: Asadero Cocina + Cantina
Green Chile & Cream Cheese Wagyu Slider with Sriracha Ketchup on a Brioche Bun
RUNNER UP: Brat Haus
The Pig Mac – brat patty & beef patty, cheddar, lettuce, pickle, sweet onion jam, hush hush sauce, on a pretzel bun
THIRD PLACE: Hand Cut Burgers and Chophouse
California Burger- Avocado, swiss, sprouts, pickled red onion, and herb aioli, topped with crispy sweet onion strings
PEOPLE’S CHOICE CHAMP: Arizona Wilderness Brewing Co
Peanut Butter and Jalapeno Jelly Burger – Brisket Blend Beef, Arizona Cheddar Cheese, Bacon, House Made Jalapeno Jelly and House Made Peanut Butter Sauce served in a Pretzel Bun
RUNNER UP: Hopdoddy Burger Bar
Goodnight/Good Cause Burger – Angus Beef, Tillamook Cheddar, Caramelized Onions, Jalapeños, Hickory BBQ, Sassy Sauce, Red Leaf Lettuce, Beefsteak Tomato
