Have you experienced Phoenix’s newest resort Mountain Shadows? It’s gorgeous with its super modern design with its AMAZING views of Camelback Mountain. The restaurant, Hearth ’61, is amazing and the cocktails are even better. So when I heard they were offering monthly cocktail classes, I signed right up.
Craft of the Cocktail classes are held on the last Sunday of the month. The theme for this month was Tiki – such a festive way to kick of the series.
When we arrived we were greeted with a welcome drink, Daiquiri with Cruzen Estate Diamond Light Rum. A mixing station set up for each person in the class – time to start mixing!
Connor Barrett, one of Hearth ’61’s bartenders, was the perfect instructor. Education, techniques and hands-on mixing. And of course, sipping the cocktails. We all had a blast – such a fun way to spend a Sunday afternoon.
The first cocktail we mixed was Jungle Bird with Cruzan Dark Rum.
The final cocktail, and my favorite, Honi Honi with Makers 41 Bourbon.
